System 01AI Infrastructure2025—PresentProduction

Lastlink AI Gateway

A governed internal platform for MCP-based tool orchestration, built from zero and deployed on Kubernetes.

1Company AI platform
Context

Teams needed a secure, shared way to use AI tools without fragmented credentials, policies, or integration patterns.

Intervention

Designed and deployed a central AI Gateway for tool orchestration, governance, and organization-wide delivery.

My role

AI strategy, system architecture, implementation, Kubernetes deployment, and adoption.

The system

The AI Gateway created a common operating layer between AI applications, internal tools, and the teams using them. Instead of treating every AI workflow as a separate integration, the platform established a governed path for tool discovery, access, and orchestration.

Design principles

  • Governance by default. Tool access and system boundaries are part of the architecture, not an afterthought.
  • One shared interface. MCP-based orchestration gives agents and applications a consistent way to reach internal capabilities.
  • Production ownership. The system was designed for deployment, observability, failure handling, and company adoption.
  • Useful across functions. The platform supports workflows spanning software engineering and operations.

Why it matters

The project represents more than an integration layer. It translated company AI strategy into a production foundation that other teams could safely build on.

Confidential implementation details and internal architecture are intentionally omitted. This case study focuses on system boundaries, ownership, and verified outcomes.
